Cardiovascular Care

Our Services

Comprehensive cardiovascular care — from diagnostics to advanced interventional procedures — all under one roof in the Houston area.

Echocardiogram

Diagnostic Imaging

An echocardiogram is a non-invasive ultrasound test that uses sound waves to produce detailed images of your heart's structure and function. It allows our cardiologists to evaluate the heart's chambers, valves, walls, and blood vessels in real time — without radiation or discomfort.

Evaluates heart valve function and chamber size
Detects fluid around the heart (pericardial effusion)
Assesses heart muscle strength and pumping function
Non-invasive, painless, no radiation

Electrocardiogram (EKG)

Diagnostic

An electrocardiogram (EKG or ECG) is a quick, painless test that records the electrical activity of your heart. Small electrode patches are placed on your skin to detect and record the timing and strength of the electrical signals that make your heart beat. Results are available immediately.

Detects arrhythmias and irregular heart rhythms
Identifies signs of a previous or current heart attack
Evaluates the effects of medications on the heart
Takes only a few minutes to complete

Stress Testing

Diagnostic

A stress test evaluates how your heart performs under physical exertion. You will walk on a treadmill or receive medication to simulate exercise while your heart rate, blood pressure, and EKG are continuously monitored. This helps detect coronary artery disease and assess your heart's overall fitness.

Detects blocked or narrowed arteries
Evaluates heart rhythm during physical activity
Available as exercise or pharmacologic (medication-induced)
Can be combined with echocardiography or nuclear imaging

Cardiac PET Imaging

Advanced Imaging

Cardiac PET (Positron Emission Tomography) is an advanced nuclear imaging technique that provides highly accurate information about blood flow to the heart muscle. A small amount of radioactive tracer is used to produce detailed 3D images, helping our team identify areas of reduced blood flow or damaged heart tissue.

Highest diagnostic accuracy for coronary artery disease
Assesses myocardial viability (living vs. damaged tissue)
Guides treatment decisions for complex heart conditions
Lower radiation dose than traditional nuclear imaging

Holter & Event Monitoring

Heart Rhythm

A Holter monitor is a small, wearable device that continuously records your heart's electrical activity over 24 to 48 hours — or longer with an event monitor. This extended monitoring captures irregular rhythms that may not appear during a standard EKG, helping diagnose conditions like atrial fibrillation or unexplained palpitations.

Detects intermittent arrhythmias and palpitations
Evaluates unexplained dizziness, fainting, or chest pain
Worn during normal daily activities
Event monitors available for longer monitoring periods

Cardiac Catheterization

Interventional

Cardiac catheterization is a minimally invasive procedure used to diagnose and treat a range of heart conditions. A thin, flexible tube (catheter) is guided through a blood vessel to the heart, allowing our interventional cardiologists to assess blood flow, measure pressures, and perform treatments such as angioplasty or stent placement.

Diagnoses coronary artery disease with precision
Performed at Houston Methodist Clear Lake and UTMB
Can include angioplasty and stent placement
Minimally invasive with short recovery time

Vascular Services

Vascular Care

Our vascular services provide comprehensive care for conditions affecting the arteries and veins throughout the body. From Doppler ultrasounds to minimally invasive endovenous ablation procedures, we diagnose and treat conditions such as peripheral artery disease, deep vein thrombosis, varicose veins, and carotid artery disease.

Doppler ultrasound for vein and artery evaluation
Treatment for varicose veins and venous insufficiency
Peripheral artery disease (PAD) diagnosis and management
Minimally invasive endovenous ablation procedures

Preventive Cardiology

Prevention

Preventive cardiology focuses on identifying and managing risk factors before heart disease develops. Our team works with you to create a personalized prevention plan that addresses cholesterol, blood pressure, diabetes, weight, and lifestyle factors — helping you live a longer, healthier life with a stronger heart.

Comprehensive cardiovascular risk assessment
Cholesterol and lipid management
Hypertension and diabetes management
Personalized lifestyle and nutrition guidance

CT Coronary Calcium Scoring

Advanced Imaging

A CT Coronary Calcium Score (CAC Score) is a fast, non-invasive CT scan that detects and measures calcium deposits in the walls of the coronary arteries. Calcium buildup is an early indicator of coronary artery disease, and this test helps our cardiologists assess your personal risk of a future heart attack — even before symptoms appear.

Identifies early signs of coronary artery disease
Non-invasive, no dye or contrast required
Takes less than 10 minutes to complete
Guides preventive treatment decisions and risk stratification
